Opportunity for you: Seeking Grant Reviewers for Regional Markets Grants

Regional Markets is recruiting grant application reviewers. 

There are two opportunities.

1. Farm to School Purchasing Grant

 The WSDA Farm to School program is seeking grant application reviewers to help award Farm to School Purchasing Grants. These grant funds are available to school districts and childcare programs for the purchase and use of Washington-grown foods.

Timeline for Review:

  • Reviewer Orientation Call: Tuesday, September 26th from 3-4PM
  • Review Period: Monday, October 2nd – Monday, October 9th
  • Reviewer Debrief Calls: Wednesday, October 11th- Tuesday, October 17th

 The time commitment for a reviewer is an estimated 10-15 hours or less; however the actual time commitment will vary depending on the number of reviewers and applications received.

 If you are interested in helping to review grant applications and have permission from your supervisor, please fill out this short Reviewer Intake Form by Tuesday, September 19th or contact the Purchasing Grant Specialist, Claire Finnerty at farmtoschool@agr.wa.gov.  

2. Local Food System Infrastructure Grant

Regional Markets is also seeking grant application reviewers to help award Local Food System Infrastructure Grants. These grants support local food supply chains and market access for farms, ranches, food processors, and food distributors.

Timeline for Review:
  • Reviewer Orientation Call: Thursday, October 26th from 4-5PM
  • Review Period: November 16th – December 15th, with potential for some follow-up in January.
  • Reviewer Debrief Calls: Monday December 11th to Friday, December 15th.

The time commitment for a reviewer is an estimated 20-25 hours; however the actual time commitment will vary depending on the number of reviewers and applications received.
